Ghana would be hoping for make it three successive appearances at the World Cup when Brazil stages the 2014 competition.
The Black Stars, who made their debut in 2006 managed a Round of 16 finish in Germany. And four years later, reached the quarter-finals in South Africa.
Such improvements only heightens the level of expectation but for Ghana defender John Paintsil, the Black Stars has what it takes to improve when the competition goes to South America in 2014.
"I think we will even be able to reach the Final – that's our expectation in four years' time.
"If we have a good mentality and maintain our discipline, as well as qualifying from our group in Africa, we can do well in Brazil in 2014," Paintsil told Fifa.com.
Paintsil is also hoping for a winning mentality as Ghana chases a fifth African Cup of Nations success. Ghana in the last four years have finished third and second at the continental competition.
"Yes, it depends on how we position ourselves, how we train and maintain our discipline and team spirit. If we can keep this going I think in Gabon in 2012 we could lift the cup."
