Fake Dollar Man Nabbed Website
A 27-Year-old Nigerian national is in the grips of the law for possession of fake United States of America (USA) dollars. His illegal business was ended abruptly when the police pulled him out from his hideout under someone’s bed in Ashaiman, where he had ran to seek protection. Briefing newsmen, Superintendent Frank Awu, the Ashaiman District Police Commander disclosed that the suspect, Abubakar Abaulahi from Birnin Kebi in the Birnin State of Nigeria has since been arraigned before a Circuit Court in Tema, presided over by His Honour, Charles A. Asiedu. He was remanded in police custody to reappear on February 14. According to Superintendent Awu, Abaulahi, who possessed a Nigerian Passport, was reported to the police by a complainant, Mohammed Abudulai that the suspect in August last year had duped him of GH¢1500 under the pretext of doubling the money for him. According to the police boss, after Abaulahi collected the money from the complainant, he disappeared until February 6, this year, when Mohammed spotted him around Old Tulaku, a suburb of Ashaiman. The Police Commander disclosed that the complainant immediately reported the incident to the police but Abaulahi went into hiding under someone’s bed where he was eventually arrested. During investigations, according to Superintendent Awu, the police led the suspect to his room at Queens Hotel, adding that when a search was conducted, 72 fake 100-dollar notes were retrieved. The police disclosed that during interrogation, Abaulahi revealed that it was a friend in Nigeria who gave him the money, and that he was not dealing in fake currency. Daily Guide background investigations revealed that Abaulahi, during his short stay at the hotel, slept with about 50 girls, most of whom are now chasing him for their reward.
