A Takoradi Circuit Court on Friday remanded Joseph Ocran and Mohammed Dobi, alias Baley into custody for allegedly stealing electrical cables belonging to Vodafone Ghana limited at Bakaekyir near, Sekondi.
Their pleas were not taken and the court adjourned hearing to January 17.
Prosecuting, Police Sergeant Seth Ahelegbe told the court presided over by Mr Kwasi Boakye that at about 1230 hours on January 3, this year, The Ghana Police Service had information that some people were tampering with cables at the back of the First Baptist church at Bakaekyir.
The prosecution said the police moved to the place and arrested the accused but his two accomplices managed to escape.
Sgt Ahelegbe said the accused mentioned Mohammed Dobi as the leader of the group and led the police to his house to effect his arrest the next day.
He said investigations were underway to apprehend the rest of the culprits.
