Leila Djansi’s Hollywood movie, Sinking Sand’, according to rumours making the rounds will bring down some Hollywood names to Ghana as part of the movie’s premier in Ghana.
The premier is scheduled to come off at the National Theatre in Accra on November 13 amidst a lot of excitements.
There would however be a press launch at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Accra on Friday, 17th September.
The main premier , as is being speculated, is going to be full of exciting activities, including claims that actor John Dumelo would be a co-host on the red carpet.
Among the Hollywood names predicted to be at the event are lead actor of the movie and Haiti born Hollywood actor, Jimmy Jean Louis and Ghana’s British broadcaster Ama .K. Abrebese.
The movie was partly shot in Ghana and wrapped up a few months ago and the premiere is to give Ghanaian movie fans a chance to see it.
The story dwells on the abuse of women in societies today and is being told with the intention of creating awareness about the continuous existence of abuse in today’s households.
It touches on two lovebirds, Jimah (Jimmy) and Pabi (Ama K), a match made in heaven until a fatal accident turns Jimah into a monster.
Endless days of wife battery become a part of their relationship. Pabi has a chance to flee but her guilt makes her stay, hoping and praying that Jimah would change and life would go back to normal.
Her fear of living alone without a family is a weakness Jimah knows she has and he makes every effort to capitalize on it.
But how long would Pabi endure this? At what cost would she buy her freedom?
Leila said the story is based on her personal experience but she twisted the story into what happens in today’s life, most especially about women.
