Hundreds of beautiful and intelligent ladies turned up last weekend for the Zone 3 (Gt. Accra, Eastern and Volta) auditions of the Miss Ghana 2010 beauty pageant at the Citizen Kofi Entertainment Centre, Osu, in Accra.
When the main selection and screening processes began, it was difficult to stop appreciating the imposing and obvious ample sexiness the ladies were made of.
In groups of five and 10, the ladies took turns to undergo measurement of their vital statistics (height, waist, bust and hips) under the watchful eyes of the judges.
For those who were able to make the cut, it was all joy whiles others simply couldn’t measure up to the required 5’7’’ the judges were looking for. A shortlisted group of 20 ladies, out of the over 100 who turned up, faced a panel of judges in a closed questions and answers session to select the five to represent the zone at the national finals on October 30.
After hours of an intense search, Nyamikeh Frances, Tawiah Felicia, Osman Nadra, Nuno Phyllis and Dapaah Chantell were selected to represent the zone.
All participants, including those who couldn’t make the shortlisted 20, received souvenirs from two of the events sponsors, rLG Communications and Ghandour Cosmetics.
The 2010 edition has seen the separation of the National Dance Champion series from the main pageant. According to the organisers, they want to focus on each of the two concepts to tap into the benefits that lie in both.
Apart from the Accra auditions, so far, selection processes have been held in two other zones – the Upper East, Upper West and Northern regions (Zone 1), and the Brong Ahafo and Ashanti regions (Zone 2).
Selection processes for Zone 4, comprising the Central and Western regions, will be held on Friday, September 10, at the Centre for National Culture (CNC) in Cape Coast.
This year’s event is sponsored by Auto Plaza Ltd, rLG Communications, Ghandour Cosmetics, Somotex, Goldfields Ghana and Forever Easy, with support from Kabengo Jewellery, So Aesthetic Makeup, Stellar Group, Compu Ghana, ATL, Citizen Kofi, Danny’s Bridal Home and Decorations, Labadi Beach Hotel and Phamous Philms.
Miss Ghana 2010 is organised by Media Whizz Kids, a full service agency with years of experience in events planning, management and marketing.
