MaddHaus Incorporated, a record label based in Accra has expressed shock at the sudden death of Ghanaian actor Kwame Owusu-Ansah, who passed away last Friday after a motor accident the previous day. Owusu-Ansah was the vice president in charge of public relations at MaddHaus Incorporated. Until his death, he supervised the signing of contracts between his company and three top Ghanaian artistes, namely Tinny, Bandana and Kwabena Kwabena on its label. A statement issued and signed by the executive vice president in charge of media and publicity, Obuobia Darko-Opoku, described the deceased as a showbiz stalwart who would forever be remembered. It said: “Kwame’s insightful knowledge of the showbiz industry for which we had just hired him as vice president in charge of public relations, has not only been denied us by his untimely death, but the entire Ghanaian populace”. The statement said the departed film actor, also an ace broadcaster, was an icon. MaddHaus expressed its deepest condolences to his family, friends, fans, as well as loved ones who had been traumatized by the unfortunate news of his demise. The actor, who also featured in many Nigerian movies, sustained serious head and waist injuries when his new Camry car traveling towards Tema, allegedly run into a cargo car being chased by the police on the highway. He was first rushed to the Tema General Hospital in a critical condition and later referred to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where passed away while doctors were trying to save his life.
