The Pivot For Peace FM Morning Show Happy new year to all my valued and charming readers, thank God for his mercies and we hope this year’s edition of “Who is on Radio” will be full of surprises and intrigues about your favourite radio and TV personalities and also the brain behind the microphones who play vital roles n the preparation of the programmes aired and also ensures that quality programmes are delivered. This year’s curtain raiser is no other person but the man Fadda Dickson of Peace 104.3 FM in Accra, Hello 102.1 FM in Kumasi and Despite Company Limited. Many may wonder why him? The tag of “Who is on Radio” fell on him because you do not k now who this man is and his capabilities. It took almost six months to convince him to grant us this interview because he always wants to remain anonymous, meanwhile he is the associate producer for this column (fylla) and also it was by his kind intervention that we were able to reach out to presenters in the Ashanti and Brong Ahafo region and gradually we will be capturing the remaining seven regions and probably some Ghanaians presenters in the Diaspora. His name rings a bell in most ears especially listeners of Peace and Hello FM respectively since almost every presenter who goes on air pays special acknowledgment to him before signing out.As many know, he is the Finance and Administration Manager for Despite Company but surprisingly he is the head of the management team for the award wining morning show “Kokrokoo” hosted by Chairman Kwami Sefa Kayi. Fadda together with other producers gets to the office as early as 5:30 am to put things together for a successful programme. He sometimes assist in the production of other social programs especially state functions where their reporters report live on both local and international functions and examples are elections, mayhem and menace. He stays in the studio to assist and sometimes works overnight. Other times when a presenter is absent, he sits in the hot seat and does all the playing and mixing himself. The man who always gives thanks to God for his life says looking at where he started life from and what his Maker has done in his life, the only thing he can also do is to give him praise and adoration and that is the main reason why he does not joke with church service. About his past, Fadda grew up in so many areas due to the job of his father who happens to be a Minister of God, they had series of transfers to a lot of places, so he changed from one school to other and presently speaks many of our local dialects. As a growing young man, he together with his Director, Osei Kwame Despite were engaged in the selling of cassettes before entering music production and eventually adding the two best radio stations - Peace and Hello FM to their success story.Fadda Dickson is loved and admired by everybody whom he comes into contact with because he does not discriminate; he has ears and a soft heart for everybody either a staff member of Despite Company or ordinary friends both young and old. He has helped a lot of young talented radio presenters to outshine their talent publicly and one of such men who never stopped thanking him was the late Mufty Dabre. He is person who has followed music for ages and really knows what it entails and currently he is the head of the management team for the current highest music celebrity in Ghana, Ofori Amponsah.Although a very busy person , his weight and health is also very important to him and soon after a hard day’s work, goes to the gym under the supervision of his physical education master to exercise in swimming, tennis and snooker and on weekends he joins his friends at Polo grounds at airport. He is always seen anywhere in town in the company of one special friend, Mike Annan, an IT expert with Despite Company. Fadda is also the webmaster for Peace FM Online and does networking system and management and believes with determination and hard work, nothing under this sun can be termed impossible and this has brought him this far. His journey to the promised land late last year so far is his greatest dream come true, where he had the opportunity of visiting the River Jordan, Galilee, Jericho, the dead sea and so many places of interest in Israel.His philosophy in life is; there is an opportunity for everyone to use and achieve their goals. He also believes that you could still make a break no matter the circumstances.
