THE RICHEST HIPLIFE MUSICIAN PART II This is the continuation of last week’s topic on the Richest Hiplife artist. This week we are going to look at the assets, investment, cars and others which qualify them to be called rich…. Fortune, they say has long conferred fame and popularity on those who work for it. So our recent obsession with the “who is wealthy” has spawned a new generation of musicians who doesn’t want what has befallen their predecessors to occur to them, therefore have been careful about how they lived their lives.
These are local musicians called Hiplifers who have achieved so much as far as the genre is concerned yet they are poverty stricken, can not afford a square meal a day because there were no proper mechanism to cross-check how many sales they make, who contributed to their intellectual input and who collects them on their behalf and the social economic situation confronting the average Ghanaian are some of the factors mitigating against their progress.
So folks, who is the hottest richest Hiplife artistes among the pack? This week we are picking relatively known artistes who are doing well as far as their vocation is concerned. These are people who have made it through the hard way even though none seems to be hurting financially at least by our own standard. Don’t be fascinated about anything about the tabulations below it doesn’t necessary follow any particular order, just pick on your choice. Now:

He has won several awards from Ghana Music Awards to KORA Awards. Living conformable and taking care of his father's property and his own acquired properties, he drives.

Obour is currently worth about one billion old currency in investments in building, cars (Golf 3 and 4) Mercedes 200 and American made mercury caravan pick up.

OH! KWAHU EASTER IS HERE AGAIN Easter is here again with its accompanied merry making and celebration. Last year was celebrated in the darkness necessitated by the load shedding, due to the low level of water in the Akosombo Dam for almost a year but thank God this year may spare us with this agony. All the same the problem with WATER is creeping in to cause havoc but with consistent rainfall I hope this wouldn’t be any serious problem.
Anyway, talking about water reminds me of the unavailability of regular water supply in the capital has brought hardship and will definitely take the excitement from the populace. This is the period characterized by many activities from family reunion to public events so if water is going to affect this grand celebration then is unfortunate. Over the years Easter has become synonymous with the Kwahus who are originally known to be marketing oriented.
Over the years the tourism aspect of the area has been successfully tapped through the effort of Nana Adjoa Awindor of Greetings from Abroad fame and the rest is history now. So for some time now the whole system has been turned into a viable venture with thousands of people trooping to the area for merry-making and developmental purposes. One of such project is the Hang and Paragliding Festival at Abetifi which I understand has been named after Ferdinand Ayim former of Ministry of Tourism who died in 2006 in a motto accident on his way to Kwahu for the grand preparation for the Paragliding festivities called The Ferdinand Ayim Paragliding Festival.
It would be massive this year and is my hope that patrons especially drivers will observe road signs and exercise precaution when driving, Ghana need you alive so if you drink don’t drive, if you are…..stay alive!
BILLY AND KWESI, YOU PEOPLE NO FORCE KORAAAA!! Why should two great “sons” of Peace Fm battle it out on air on such a trivial issue whiles these others sit their "somewhere" to take credit? What happened last Saturday on Entertainment Review program is a disgrace to the two and I totally condemned the behavior of the two: Me yie Otwe anaa Adowa?
I must say even though I have a problem with the two I must commend Kwesi for his double-headedness. At least it shows how professional the program has become such that it is not stage-managed or privy. I am sorry but I must say this that I was not in agreement with the fact that the phone lines were activated for listeners to say whether there is similarities in the song or not, even though opening of the phone lines is the prerogative of the team or their own discretion. Billy should have also know better as a colleague and treat the issue with the contempt it deserves but not the way he went about it, am sorry bro.
What you did have rather boasted the ego of the artistes making them more popular than before leaving you people villains. Interestingly; the main antagonist in the case Kakarika came to deny all that the other friends had said and stated categorically that he allowed Sidney to use the song, period. Why then should you people allow these small boys-boys to knock your heads against each other?
A small bird whispered into my ears that the two doesn’t see eye to eye hence the volatile attitude, true dat? I am just asking a question ohh! I hope Fada will call the two to order. Meanwhile, let me take this misunderstanding to wish the host Kwesi Aboagye and Uncle Carlos belated birthdays: MAY YOUR BIRTH DAYS BE FILLED WITH JOY, HAPPINESS AND PERFECT PEACE. GRAB THE GOOD THINGS THE YEAR HAVE FOR YOUWE REMEMBER YOU FEERDINAND AYIM A country that does not reward its citizens is not worth dying for, and then an institution that does not recognize its loyal partners and stakeholders in their field of endeavor is not worth doing business with. In view of this saying we think is appropriate on this festive occasion when all eyes are on Okwahu Easter especially Atibie where the Paragliding takes place, we of Weekly Fylla wish to pay tribute to of our good friend Ferdinand Ayim.
Two years ago this young energetic diligent Special Assistant of the then Minister of Tourism and Modernization of the Capital City Ferdinand Ayim was in charge of the organization of this newly-found “air fly” and make sure everything was done to for a successful launching and gliding. But as fate may have it and Akans will say “Fofie anto Atta” the man we all love not to hate met his untimely death in an accident on the Osino-Ankaase road along Accra / Kumasi truck road. It was terrible and shocking.
The day in question for instance, he was on his way as usual to Atibie for the final preparation for the second Easter Paragliding event. Too soon to call, Ayim. I remember vividly about two years ago when his balloon refused to open up for a possible fly and I said to my self I wouldn’t attempt this “flying” thing in my life but he was cautious and bold to try for the second time and succeeded. That was the man we will miss forever. May the good Creator keep him in his bosom until “you” meet him again without me cos I dey wait for Christ. wfet105@yahoo.com
