Government says the five member committee set up by the Sports Ministry to investigate the many challenges that docked Ghana's participation in the Maputo All Africa Games will do an effective work in the interest of the nation.
The Public Relations Officer of the Ministry Of Youth And Sports, Akwasi Sarpong, said proper consultations were done before the Ministry came up with the committee of inquiry.
Mr. Sarpong insists the committee members are competent enough to do a good job to get to the bottom of issues.
He told Asempa Sports on Tuesday that public perception that the committee members are friends and cronies of the National Sports Authority chairman, Worlanyo Agra, is unacceptable and should not be tolerated.
He added that the members on the committee are not there to gag any individual but to deal with the crisis that engulfed Team Ghana during the 10th All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique last month.
The five-member committee made up of; Nii Atode Din Barima, Prof Francis Dodoo, Ben Ohene Aryee, David Adjem and Randy Abbey, will be inaugurated on Tuesday, 4th October, 2011 by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Kofi Humado to enable it officially begin its work.
