Victoria Bright’s Nomination Receives Approval Website
Parliament has unanimously approved President Kufuor’s nomination of Miss Victoria Bright as Deputy Minister Designate at the Office of the President. This follows a motion which was moved in Parliament on Thursday, February 7, 2008 by Hon. Freddy Blay, Chairman of the Appointments Committee of Parliament on the Committee’s 14th Report on the President’s Nomination for Deputy Ministerial Appointment. It would be recalled that, the Appointment Committee withheld its report of November 29th 2007 on Miss Victoria Bright’s Nomination to enable it conduct further investigation on the Nominee’s renunciation of her British Citizenship. According to the Appointment Committee, Miss Victoria Bright had fully complied with all the rules regarding the renunciation of her British Nationality and is therefore qualified for the position for which she has been nominated. Hon Freddy Blay said, the Committee will soon complete its report on Mr Ken Nuworsu who has been nominated by President Kufour as Deputy Minister Designate for Manpower Development and Employment.
