Thirteen Killed in Djibouti Train Crash Website
A freight train derailed in southern Djibouti, killing 13 people and injuring 24, state-run media reported Monday. Hangers-on were riding the train, which was transporting livestock, when the accident occurred near the town of Holl-Holl on Sunday, the ADI news agency said, quoting the emergency services. An investigation into its cause has been ordered. Holl-Holl is a stop along the railway that was constructed in the 19th century to link Djibouti with Ethiopia's capital Addis Ababa. Commerce Minister Rifki Abdoulkader and other government officials went to the scene to asses the accident.
