Support Alma Mater: Minister Advises old Students Associations Website
Ashanti Regional Minister, Mr Emmanuel Asamoah Owusu-Ansah, has appealed to old students associations to commit resources towards the infrastructural development of their alma mater. He said the government had many socio-economic issues to tackle and it could not shoulder the responsibility of providing all social amenities to schools. Mr Owusu-Ansah said this at a get-together organised by the Asanteman Past Students Association (ASAPSA) in Kumasi on Sunday. The Regional Minister, who is a past student of the Asanteman Senior High School, said it was also imperative that the leadership of these associations interacted on regular basis with students of their former schools. This, he said, would help to shape the lives of the students while addressing the high rate of indiscipline among some of the students. He said he was liaising with some philanthropists and members of ASAPSA to construct a block of three classrooms for the school. Mr Joseph Amoah, President of ASAPSA, appealed to members of the association to donate generously to enable the association to buy a photocopier machine for the school.
