A total of 630 unemployed youth in the Kwahu East District, had gained employment under the various modules of the National Youth Employment Programme (NYEP) for the past two years.
The modules included Community Education Teaching Assistant, Community Protection Assistant, Youth in Dressmaking, Health Extension, Fire Service, Zoomlion, National Afforestation Programme and mosquito spraying programme.
A booklet on the district’s “Better Ghana Agenda” programme, which was copied to the Ghana News Agency, has indicated.
The district had also distributed twenty sewing machines to dressmaking and tailors apprentices to learn their trade to acquire the requisite skills to gain sustainable employment.
The Assembly distributed GH¢1,000 each to the 18 elected assembly members to undertake self-help projects in their electoral areas two years ago in pursuant of the Assembly’s policy towards effective decentralization process.
The Assembly’s open door administration policy being implemented by the District Chief Executive, Mr Samuel Asamoah, had earned him admiration from the assembly members, opinion leaders and the general public.
