The family of a notorious armed robber on Sunday morning managed to rescue him (the robber) from an irate mob after his attempted robbery at a house at Kaprice, a suburb of Accra, failed.
The notorious armed robber popularly known as Asiedu injured three people with a cutlass and a pair scissors before he was overpowered by the mob.
A victim who spoke to Citi News on grounds of anonymity said he heard a loud noise in their garage around 12:00 am and decided to find out what the noise was. Upon reaching the garage, he noticed Asiedu making his way from the garage to the main hall with a cutlass and a pair of scissors in hand.
When queried what his mission was in the house, the robber turned violent and attacked him (the victim) injuring him in the process.
According to the victim he managed to call for help and a group of young men besieged the house who managed to overpower the armed robber.
An eyewitness told Citi News that two people sustained minor cutlass injuries while the third sustained severe injuries in their bid to overpower the notorious robber, who he said has been terrorising people at Kaprice for some time. He added that attempts to reach the police proved futile.
The eyewitness added that on Thursday Asiedu managed to escape after he stole a television set and an amount of five hundred Ghana cedis from a pastor in the neighbourhood. Upon investigations, Citi News discovered that the family of Asiedu, who had been beaten to near death, was rescued and whisked away into a Toyota corolla taxi with registration number GR 7050 H.
