A three-day national conference of the Ghana Bar Association ended at Koforidua on Wednesday with the election of Nii Osah Mills as the new national president of the Association.
He polled 246 votes to beat Dr A. B. K. Anane, who got 80 votes and Mr Bennet Winston Tamakloe, who had nine votes.
Mr Benson Nutsukpui, Mr Peter Zwennes, Mr Kwabena Asante Krobea and Mr Anthony Forson Jr. were elected Vice-President, Secretary, Assistant Secretary and Public Relations Officer, respectively.
The conference could not elect for the position of Treasurer and Assistant Public Relations Officer because there were no nominations to those positions.
The new national executive will serve for one year and could seek re-election as many times as possible.
The three-day conference was under the theme: "Fifty years of Administration of Justice in Ghana".
