The National Democratic Congress (NDC), is yet to decide whether to submit the CD-ROM which it claims contains the astronomical increases in voter population in some constituencies in the Ashanti Region to the EC. The CD-ROM has been a subject of controversy as the Electoral Commission challenges the figures the NDC says were obtained from the CD which it sourced from the EC. Following the controversy, the EC Chairman, Dr. Afari Djan challenged the NDC to submit the CD for verification of the claims. But the First Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Mr. Elvis Afriyie Ankrah said he will not trust the EC to hand over the CD to them. "To tell the truth I will not trust the EC and hand over that CD-ROM to them" he stressed. The General Secretary of the NDC, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia said the party would only release the CD if an investigative committee comprising all the political parties was set up as agreed on at the IPAC meeting to review the matter. He said the NDC had no qualms with suggestions that an independent body should be set up to investigate the allegations of the voter register being bloated, provided it agreed with the composition of the committee.
