We thank the Almighty Allah for ushering us into 2011 in a peaceful atmosphere under a harmonious broad hierarchy of National Leadership, political, religious and traditional.
For us Muslim Youth For Change the interposition of our spiritual Leader, His Eminence the National Chief Imam, Sheikh (Dr.) Nuhu Usman Sharabutu, between Government and our community has contributed greatly to national peace.
Government after government has placed confidence in His Eminence in matters concerning the Muslim community. We are, however, disturbed that when it comes to Hajj, the recurrence of mismanagement and very murky conduct by ruling party officials do not show sincerity in the mandate to His Eminence to effectively supervise effective Hajj organisation. His Eminence, the National Chief Imam, is thus being made the proverbial SIMPA PANYIN by people employing patronage of the establishment!
The Muslim Youth for Change is now serving final notice to all who care and are concerned that toying with the High Spirituality of Hajj by deceit to the National Chief Imam in any misconduct for personal gain and status, shall not only shake the foundation of our enduring peace but also see us in a very fierce resistance from the Muslim Youth.
The Muslim Youth for Change is giving up to the end of this week for Halidu and his Committee colleagues to apologize to Muslims for misrepresenting and disregarding His Eminence the National Chief Imam and resign quietly, else the youth shall take to the streets. Halidu Haruna and his Committee, for showing arrogance and disrespect to the National Chief Imam, decided to use confidential documents from The President to National Chief Imam in the media.
What an insult to hear the present Hajj Committee’s spokesperson, Halidu Haruna, telling the nation that their ‘adhoc’ Committee is permanent when the cause for nearly 600 failed pilgrims in 2010 alone is yet to be unraveled. What do the likes of Halidu and his team think of the His Eminence the National Chief Imam?
It is no more acceptable to us Muslim Youth for Change to purport to hand over Hajj to His Eminence the National Chief Imam but pull strings from party headquarters and the Castle. Stop desecrating the otherwise very sacred conduct of the Hajj before the Nation is plunged into instability.
We therefore urge the immediate refund of failing paid Hajj fares to all failed pilgrims in 2010 without any excuse whatsoever. The Hajj fare is not meant to be loan from intended pilgrims to any bank. Official corruption must cease and not allow any misappropriation from National kitty in the name of Hajj.
We want to see genuine mandate to His Eminence the National Chief Imam for Hajj management where true stakeholdership reflective of the Muslim Ummah would be brought together devoid of any form of patronage from Government and any political party. Indeed, Hajj is for piety and not political reward!
