Mr. John Akolgo Tia, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Talensi, has donated 100 maxi bags of maize worth 4,200 Ghana cedis to flood victims in the Talensi Constituency, in the Upper East Region. The MP said he used part of the MP Common Fund to purchase the maize and expressed the hope that the gesture would help mitigate the plight of the victims. Mr Tia appealed to individuals, religious bodies and organisations to come to the aid of the victims. Mr. Sebastian Bisnab, District Chief Executive for the Talensi-Nabdam, said the assembly had donated relief items to the victims and asked philanthropists to also support them.
