Several institutions has donated relief items to the National Disaster Management Organisation to be distributed to the four regions hit by severe rains resulting in floods.
The items included foodstuffs, toiletries, medications, used clothing, cooking oil, confectionary, baby foods and blankets.
The institutions included Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Nestle Ghana limited, Association of Biscuit Manufacturers, Shalom Indigenous Foundation, Christ Foster Home and Ghana Telecom.
The rest are Tobinco Pharmaceutical Limited, University of Ghana Dental School, Assemblies of God, Teshie Branch, the military, Apostolic Church, Multichoice, Unilever Ghana limited and JAIC ministry church.
Mr Kwamena Bartels, Minister of Interior on behalf of the Inter-Ministerial team set up to manage the disaster, expressed government's appreciation to the rapid response of Ghanaians to the crisis.
