Ministry To Highlight Critical Role Of Tourism In National Development Website
The Ministry of Tourism and Diasporan Relations will on Friday, May 9 interact with corporate organizations that sponsored its activities last year on the importance of tourism in national development. It would be a dinner event to honour the sponsors as well as to discuss extensively how the development of tourism helps in generating foreign exchange, creating jobs and reducing poverty, especially in rural areas. A statement signed by Mrs Bridgette Katsriku, Chief Director of the Ministry, urged all invitees to the event to attend in order to contribute to the important discussions, “The Tourism Ministry has made great strides in the development of tourism since 2005,” the statement said and called for more support for the industry to enable it build on its achievements.
