Man In Court For Assault Website
The Agona Swedru Circuit Court on Friday granted bail in the sum of 200 Ghana Cedis with two sureties to Alfred Borners who assaulted and threatened to kill one Stephen Kojo Odo and two others at Senya Beraku. Borners, aged 29 from Senya Beraku pleaded not guilty and the court, presided over by Mr. Charles Wilson ordered him to re-appear on May 9th, 2008. Narrating the facts of the case to the court, Prosecuting Police Chief Inspector Paul Adamah said on April 24, Mr. Odo and two friends whose names were not mentioned attended funeral at Senya Beraku. He said at about 1930 hours they drove to a drinking spot where they met the accused and some people sitting in front of the bar. The prosecution said the complainant blew his horn to draw their attention to give him way to pack but Borners became annoyed at Mr. Odo, rushed on him in his car, gave him a slap and ran away. He said, the complainant and his friends later managed to locate the accused person's house with help of some people. Chief Inspector Adamah said, at the accused person's house, he threw stone at the complainant and his friends and later went into the room for a cutlass and inflicted wounds on the head of Mr. Odo and threatened to kill his friends if they venture to attack him. The complainant and his friend later left the place and reported the matter to the police and the accused was arrested. Mr. Odo was treated and discharged at the Senya Beraku Health Centre.
