The family of Kwabena Kankam, the last surviving Ghanaian due to be executed in Libya on Friday is making frantic efforts to stop the execution. Relatives of the convict are travelling to Dormaa Ahenkro in the Brong Ahafo region, to seek clemency for their incarcerated relative, who has admitted to killing another Ghanaian Isaac Oppong, in what he calls self-defence. Meanwhile government says it has dispatched another letter to the Libyan authorities to buy time whilst the negotiations for clemency continue.
