A leading member of the Integrated Social Development Center, is asking government to review the management contract it signed with Aqua Vitens Rand, a joint Dutch and South African company currently managing the country’s’ urban water systems.
Dr Steve Manteaw says the company has failed to deliver because problems such as excessive waste of water and scarcity of water in some parts of the country have not been very well managed.
Commenting on the national water policy launched in Accra yesterday, Dr Manteaw said the company had failed to stabilise the water system causing erratic supply in urban centres.
He said the responses of Aqua Vitens to concerns raised about its delivery are rather lame and lack substance.
Dr Manteaw said ISODEC would soon come out with a strong statement on the issue.
