Almost one year after the main events for the celebration of Ghana’s 50th independence anniversary took place; many of the performers and contractors are yet to be paid.
For instance, members of the Ghana Actors’ Guild say several attempts to secure payment for their performances have yielded very little results.
About 400 actors took part in various enactments including the release of Kwame Nkrumah from the James Fort Prison and the 28th February cross road shooting, among others here in Accra and Kumasi.
Samuel Odoi Mensah, the president of the Actors’ Guild tells Joy News the group is very disappointed with the delay in the payment of their performance fee of 100 thousand Ghana cedis or 1 billion old Ghana cedis.
