The Most Reverend Dr Robert Aboagye-Mensah, Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church, urged Ministers of the gospel to work hard to improve the socio-economic conditions of the people apart from propagating the gospel.
He advised the Ministers to initiate measures to promote education wherever they were sent to work.
Most Rev Dr Aboagye-Mensah was preaching the sermon at the burial service of the Right Rev. Ebenezer Kwesi Baiden, founder of the Saltpond Methodist Senior High School, retired Superintendent Minister of the Methodist Church, at Saltpond on Friday.
The Presiding Bishop said Rt Rev. Baiden was dedicated to human development and established educational institutions towards the development of education in the country.
In a tribute, the Rev Solomon Paa Grant-Essilfie, headmaster of Saltpond Methodist Senior High School, said Rt Rev. Baiden, the first headmaster of the School, would always be remembered for his discipline and hard work.
The headmaster said Rt. Rev, Baiden laid a solid foundation for the school making it "the pride of Mfantseman" and encouraging parents and guardians from all parts of the country to enrol their wards and children in the school.
Rt Rev. Baiden, who died at the age 84 years, on 30th November 2007, also established day nursery at the Wesley College, Kumasi, Dunkwa-on-Offin, Saltpond and Akuapem-Mampong Methodist Secondary School now known as Mampong Community Secondary technical School, died on 30th November 2007.
