FAPRA Members Visit Manhyia Website
Members of the Federation of African Public Relations’ Association (FAPRA), on Wednesday visited the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi to pay homage to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. The delegation led by Mr Kojo Yankah, president of Institute of Public Relations Ghana, shook hands with the Asantehene who sat in state to celebrate “Awukudae,” one of the sacred days on the Asante calendar. The FAPRA members came from Nigeria, South Africa, Cameroon, Sierra Leone, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Kenya and Ghana. Mr Yankah told the Asantehene that members of the association were currently holding their 21st annual general conference in Kumasi under the theme “Corporate Social Responsibility, Global Trends and Public Relations Implications.” Sounds of Fontomfrom, blowing of horn with appellations climaxed the occasion as chiefs, members of the royal families, well wishers, groups and individuals clad in black and white attire took turns to greet Otumfuo Osei Tutu. The Asantehene performed rituals and also offered prayers for his predecessors, Asanteman and Ghana.
