Nana Kobina Botwe II, Swedruhene has called on the political parties to conduct violence free campaign in the forthcoming general elections.
He said Ghanaians are one people with common destiny, aim at ensuring that living conditions are improved especially those in the rural folks.
Nana Botwe said this when Mr Ibrahim Zubairo , National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate for Agona West was introduced to the Swedruman Council of Chiefs at Swedru.
The Swedruhene who is also Adontenhene of Agona Nyakrom Traditional Area said it was sad to see or hear NPP, NDC and CPP supporters engage in a fight or heckling each other during political campaign, adding that political parties must come together since they are heading towards one common goal to reduce poverty, hunger, disease and oppression.
He noted that nobody would like to follow violence party and urged supporters of NDC to avoid acts that would ridicule the party.
Nana Botwe said chiefs are there to welcome any political party because the constitution of the country do not allow them take active part in politics, adding that traditional rulers would not sit down unconcern for political parties to plunge the nation into conflicts.
He urged the constituency executives and the candidate of the party to exhort supporters on the need to campaign peacefully to deepening democratic dispensation of the country.
Nana Botwe said if there was fire at Agona Swedru people cannot stay and conduct their businesses in peaceful manner in order to improve their lot.
Mr Musah Donkoh, Agona West Constituency Chairman assured the chiefs in the area that NDC would like to rule the country again so members would not misconduct themselves in the December elections.
Mr Zubairo said the NDC would defeat NPP in the forthcoming elections and improve the living conditions of the people in the country.
He said the door to door campaign embarked upon by the party was yielding positive results and called on the Ghanaians to give the mandate to NDC to reduce poverty and economic hardship facing them.
