President Goodluck Jonathan, has urged the Senate to urgently pass the anti-terrorism and anti-money laundering bill before the end of this month. This, according to him is to prevent the US Financial Action Task Force from blacklisting Nigeria as a terror prone state. In an official presidential communication read by the Senate President David Mark on the floor yesterday, Jonathan said that a blacklisting by the FATF will seriously hamper government's effort in combating terrorism and corruption while making efforts at boosting the nation's economic development. Nigeria had made a commitment to the FATF review group back ib February this year that it would guarantee that the anti-terrorism andmoney laundering laws are put in place before June 30.
