The African Acting Scene is Heating Up and There Are Several Key Players in the Field
African actors and actresses are showing up in more numbers all over the world. You would be surprised to find out just how many you already know. Take for instance, Djimon Hounsou, who got his start in the movie, Amistad. Then there is Chiwetel Ejiofor and Idris Elba, both of whom can turn on their British accents whenever they need to. All three are award winning actors who turn up the sexy meter whenever they show up on screen. Oris Erhuero starred in the movie, 'Sometimes in April', and also models. There are, however some actors that should be better known but are still hiding behind the scenes undiscovered. One who has been burning the celluloid screen for years is Van Vicker. He is HOT! The ladies have been going crazy around him and many have been trying to see if they can be the next Mrs. Van Vicker ( the funny thing is that with all this attention, he still doesn't realize how hot he is....how hot is that!!!!). Others you may know are Bambadjan Bamba (Law and Order, I Think I Love My Wife), Souléymane Sy Savané , and Hakeem Kae-Kazim. Boris Kodjoe still makes us proud as an actor and a father.
Caroline Chikezie (no relation to the American Idol Chikezie) has been the sexy vixen on several movies. She was in Aeon Flux, Eragon, and, more popularly featured on that naughty-as-only-the-British-can-be show, 'Footballer's Wives' (she was the hot physical therapist). Angel Melaku is one who has started off as a video-model and is trying to branch off into the movie scene. She is the stuff that frustrated men take cold showers over and has been featured in several magazines (King, Vibe). Poor lady had to hire a bodyguard just to keep the over-zealous would-be suitors away. Aaah the price of insane beauty! Mary Oyaya was Luminara Unduli in 'Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones'.Sanaa Hamri and Stan Barua have been busy working the back end of things and helping make award winning (or nominated) films. On the Nollywood scene you have Dakore Egbuson who has been featured in several movies and the controversial Iniobongo (better known as Ini) Edo who still has people talking about her 'outrageous' behavior.
