Visiting Seven United last Saturday broke Saint Mirren’s unbeaten record with a shocking 3-0 win in their 5th Week Zone 3A Division One League match at the Indadfa Park.
On a day that nothing went right for the homesters, Seven United played with a well-rehearsed strategy that centered on a strong defence and a combative midfield that cut-off all supplies to Saint Mirren’s danger man, Mahatma Otoo, who on the few occasions that he broke loose forced some great saves from Seven Unity’s Keeper.
Seven Unity’s path to glory was blazed by Ibrahim Bakayoko in the 48th minute from a very questionable penalty awarded by Nsawam based Referee, E Ofori Addo.
Saint Mirren’s recovery from this goal took too long and just as they appeared to be coming up Douglas Adomakoma increased Seven Unity’s tally in the 79th minute.
Play became balanced with Saint Mirren slightly on top in their quest to redeem themselves, with talented midfielder Isaac Djan Siaw dictating the pace aside a couple of begging chances missed by Farouk Abu. Seven United also defended very well.
However, sloppy marking by Saint Mirren’s defence presented Seven United the opportunity to kill-off the game when Egbeli New love scored his sides the third and final goal in the 85th minutes.
