The original black entertainment entertainment television (OBETV) based in London,Uk was honourned to have the President of Ghana,His Excellency John Kufuor at their office in the portal business centre area yesterday.
The President of Ghana, His Excellency John Agyekum Kufuor took time out of his busy schedule to visit the OBE Television Offices in London today. Mr. Kuffour commended the Channel for the outstanding work it has been doing on behalf of the Nation of Ghana and Ghanaians in the Diaspora.
The President was introduced to members of the OBE Staff and was given a tour of the offices and studios of OBE Television.
He acknowledged the fact that despite all the difficulties faced by OBE Television in operating a twenty four hour television channel, the staff and management have managed to make OBE TV a most efficient and respectable Television Channel.
Mr Kufuor pledged his support for the Television Channel and pointed out that he was in London as one of two African heads of states invited by Mr. Gordon Brown to meet with the chief executive officers of major corporations such as Coca Cola and Microsoft.
The other African leader invited to the Business summit by Mr. Brown is the President of Rwanda, His Excellency Paul Kagame. The Chief Executive of OBE Television, Mr. Bernard Ampaw paid tribute to both Mr. Kufuor and the Ghana High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, His Excellency Mr. Annan Arkyin Cato. Mr. Ampaw thanked Mr Cato for his excellent work as Ghana’s High Commissioner and informed the President that Mr.
Cato has done a great deal to support the work of OBE Television. After the official welcoming of the President and the High Commissioner, Mrs Catherine Ampaw of OBE Television presented the President with the OBE TV Award in recognition of his excellent service to the Nation of Ghana.
