Visiting Kumasi King Faisal made sure tottering Accra Great Olympics stayed put at the bottom of the Onetouch Premier League table with a 3:0 thumping on Sunday.
Faisal opened the scores as early as the fifth minute through Samad Oppong before Eric Opoku added to the tally in the 20th minute.
Out of sorts Olympics only managed to bundle their chances or found goalkeeper Osei Boateng a real barrier, allowing the visitors to dictate affairs before a rather sparse crowd at the Ohene Djan Stadium.
And when Olympics appeared to regroup to redeem themselves after the break, Faisal stunned them with the third goal.
At the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium, homesters AshantiGold SC needed a brace by striker Alex Asamoah to ditch unyielding Sekondi Hasaacas by 2:1.
Asamoah put his side up first in the 6th minute, however Hasaacas leveled up in the 20th minute through Freddie Quaison to throw the game wide open again.
Hasaacas were indeed the more threatening in front of goal, as fans of Ashgold yelled and rained invectives on their players, before Asamoah netted the match winner in the 60th minute to set their hearts at ease.
At the Tema Park, Real Sportive pipped visiting Liberty Professionals by 2:1 with goals from Yakubu Issaka and Alhassan Nuhu. Liberty’s lone goal, came from Kofi Nti Boakye.
Zaytuna United and Tema Youth also sold out a pulsating game that ended two goals apiece at the El Wak Stadium.
At the Berekum Golden City Park, homesters Arsenals pipped visiting Gamba All Blacks by a lone goal courtesy a 69th minute strike by substitute Seidu Abdulai.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko play host to Accra Hearts of Oak on Wednesday at the Baba Yara Stadium in an outstanding game.
