For highlife music lovers, the last Friday of every month is a day they look forward to. Indeed, Highlife Ren¬dezvous has caught on so well that invitations run out days before the con¬cert. Last Friday's edition featured Pat Thomas.
At exactly 8: 15p111, the event kicked off with the Octopus Band setting the tone with some soft melodious tunes.
Pat Thomas, clad in a sparkling black shirt over a pair of white trouser with a white cap, later took over the stage amid thunderous clapping from the audience. Looking very immaculate yet business-like, he zoomed straight into action to dish out some of his hit songs to the delight of the audience.
The highest point of the show was when he performed the ever popular song "Sika Ye Mogya" to which the audience re¬quested several encores. Pat Thomas was exceptional, winning the audience's admi¬ration and praise with every song.
He got the audience to cheer him on, dance and sing along with some interesting dance moves. Mr. Sarpong, a regular patron at Highlife Rendezvous, said "I wished the Highlife Rendezvous came off every Friday" and asked Citi FM to consider his request. Not only was good music blaring from the speakers, but there was plenty of the "1931" Club Beer.
According to Nii-Amah Dagadu, Business Development Manager of Citi FM, next on the bill at Highlife Rendezvous is the rejuvenated Ramblers International Dance Band. He explains that there have been repeated calls for an encore for this stellar band.
