After considerable public attention since the release of its maiden The Altar-Aforemukyia album around July last year, the No Tribe gospel group has resolved to preach peace in the run-up to the December general election.
Spokesmen for the group, Lord Osei and Nacy, told Showbiz they are ready to sound their peace message anywhere in the country on any political party’s platform.
They said the group’s name signifies non-allignment to any clique or faction and they want to give a practical demonstration of that as the election approaches.
“The country needs peace before, during and after the general election. We see ourselves as being in a unique position to relay that to everyone through music. We would use every opportunity that comes our way to let everyone understand there are winners and losers in elections and we must stay united all the time.”
No Tribe is a collection of young men and women from the International Christian Charismatic Centre at Fadama in Accra.
They are hopeful their call for peace, floated on a blend of exciting contemporary and danceable rhythms, would touch hearts and make the necessary impact for a peaceful election in December.
