Portsmouth midfielder Sulley Muntari has heaped praise on boss Harry Redknapp for mapping out the strategy that secured them a place in the last four of the FA Cup.
The Ghanaian converted the penalty that helped them to beat Manchester United en route to the semi-finals for the first time in 16 years.
Muntari revealed that Redknapp filled his players with the belief that they could beat the Premiership champions on their home pitch.
The former Udinese man said: “The manager told us if we came here and played our game, we could come here and get a result. We had to believe in that and show him we had that belief, too.
“We knew we had to be disciplined, but he gave us the courage.”
Portsmouth will play West Brom in the next round of the competition.
