Miss Ghana Assists Patient

Miss Ghana 2007, Frances Judith Takyi Mensah has presented an amount of GH¢1,100 toward the treatment of a three-year old hole-in-heart patient, Mabel Atuku, who hails from the northern part of Ghana. The amount was received on behalf of the patient by Dr. Lawrence Sereboe, consultant cardiothoracic surgeon at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra. In a chat, Frances Takyi Mensah said whilst working on a project in the North she came into contact with one of the patient’s relatives, who briefed her about the girl’s plight and pleaded with her to assist. She said after speaking with a number of organizations, CODCO Limited, a real estate company, agreed to pay for Mabel’s medical treatment.
