Kotoko coach, Bashiru Hayford, says he is ready to leave the club after a stirred up second half performance saw his side overcome the odds to throw out Nigeria’s Dolphin FC in the Confederation Cup with a 4-1 win last Monday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The Ghanaian media has been reporting of the club’s intention to part ways with the coach for his clumsy style of play.
The speculation was fueled by Kotoko’s 2-0 defeat in the first leg of the tie in Nigeria a fortnight ago.
I have been hearing about it and I assume there’s an iota of truth in the report, I’m waiting for my letter, Hayford told Ghanasoccernet.com
The Ghanaian journalist can sometimes say things that will get you confused but if it’s true then there’s nothing I can do.
I will go because they employed me.I was working somewhere and they brought me in and I have played 16 matches without defeat.
So if they want to sack me I’m waiting for the letter, Hayford said in a post match interview.
I will describe the victory as a miraculous victory because people doubted we could qualify.
Kotoko wrapped up a 4-3 aggregate after conceding an early goal to win the tie and qualify to the next stage of the qualifiers.
