THE Porcupine Warriors, Kumasi Asante Kotoko are only waiting to be officially crowned leaders of this year’s Onetouch Premiership after beating visiting Real Sportive 2-1 in their 27th week fixtures at the Baba Yara Stadium on Saturday.
Kotoko’s performance was really abysmal and contrary to expectation that after picking the vital three points, there would be a jamboree, the metropolis was virtually quite.
Goals from Kwadjo Poku and Kwabena Yaro deepened the woes of the relegation threatened Real Sportive who matched the run-away league leaders boot for boot.
Real Sportive’s start was promising enough with Shadrack Dodzi pumping blood into the game as he galvanised his men to dictate the pace for the homesters.
The trend changed, and Kwadwo Poku powered home a shot after taking a pass outside the box, for the first goal in the 75th minute.
But, a one-two between Dodzi and Richard Armah on the left and aggressive run by the latter saw him getting the equaliser some minutes later ending the half.
Fifty-one minutes later, substitute Stephen Oduro, who changed the game pattern, sent a volley and Yaro headed home the winner.
Yaro, was lucky with the goal as he was a culprit, squandering golden chances.
That was one match referee Vivian Argo was economical with her cards yet she rebuked the players seriously, especially when Samuel Inkoom of Kotoko, thought it was right to shake the net for the opponent.
