KESSBEN FC AND King Faisal, two Kumasi-based clubs have shown solidarity with Kotoko and Ashanti Gold, as the two clubs embark on missions for continental glory this weekend.
Kotoko, after a 2-2 drawn away game, would host Wikki Tourists of Nigeria in a Confederation Cup elimination duel at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
On the other hand, Ashanti Gold FC after going down 3-0 a fortnight ago, would come face-to-face with JSK of Algeria in a Champions League elimination tie at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.
Considering that the two duels are international assignments that call for total support from every true loving soccer fan, Kessben FC and King Faisal have fervently wished the two teams the best of luck.
Speaking in separate interviews, communications directors of the two teams expressed the hope that come what may, Kotoko and Ashanti Gold would sail through and progress to the next stage of the respective tournaments.
Fred Acheampong, Communications Director of Kessben FC called on the teeming supporters of his team to in one accord rally behind Kotoko and Ashanti Gold to ensure that they record convincing wins on home soil.
“This is a national affair, and do not forget that the two teams are going to defend the national colours so we should put aside our club affiliations and give them massive backing to aid them qualify for the next stage”.
On his part, Samuel Otoo, Communications Director of King Faisal urged all soccer fans in the region and the country at large, to troop to the Baba Yara and Len Clay stadiums in Kumasi and Obuasi respectively in huge numbers to give total support to the two teams.
