Although the second pre Ghana Music Awards forum came on successful as scheduled, attendance is nothing to write home about.
This debacle could easily be attributed to the bad press it received concerning the engagement of inexperience people to handle the selection process.
The pre Ghana Music Awards is aimed at providing a platform for the concerns of stakeholders and the general public to help organise a successful event this year.
In an interview with The Statesman, Helen Yeboah, Freelance Journalist, stated that re-introducing the open forum after several years in the schedule for the Ghana music awards was an impressive idea but as to whether the collated opinions would be considered was something else.
To some, the best collaboration should rather be the best featuring slice of all the songs that came up are not collaboration.
Indeed the forum has really brought very important suggestions that can go a long way to transform the way things are done in the selection process as compared to what happened in the first forum held in Kumasi.
Participants noted that when organisers fail to identify worthy contenders for a category, that category should be put aside so as to revive the hopes and aspirations in the music industry in subsequent times.
