The Obuasi born Fante native, Andrew Kwabena Adisi popularly known in showbiz circles as Ebo’o is gearing up for his debut release titled Ebo’ony slated for the last quarter of 2008. Ebo’o is no stranger to the music industry. His background includes songwriting credit and features for artists like A Plus.
Fans can expect an album with lyrics detailing Ebo’s life experiences through to the hardships faced by human, love for ourselves and God, need for peace and unity, change in society and about the need to hold on and not give up in life. Praising Jehovah is the ultimate according to Ebo’o so the album could not have been complete without a song titled ‘Jehovah’. The album is rounded out with productions by Kwajo Cinqo, Winner Papa Noi and Junaid with collaborations from Kwajo Cinqo and Tic Tac. A young fanatic reveals “I’ve never seen an artist like (Ebo’o) - a superb writer and performer. I can’t wait to hear his new album!”
His first hit single, ‘Once Twice’ was released onto the Ghanaian music market in November 2005 and after commanding maximum radio and T.V. play all over the country, it transcended the boundaries of Ghana to other African countries and the rest of the world, notably Europe. This earned him recognition on Africa’s A rated T.V. station CHANNEL O. His video also received attention from MTV and Afro-European networks like OBETV as well as many others around the globe. Rave reviews have been written about this extraordinary artiste too.
Ebo’o commands attention wherever he performs with his captivating voice and conscious reggae feel. In most quarters in the showbiz industry he has been likened (justifiably) to the likes of Jamaica’s Damien Marley, Reggae band Steel Pulse, Senegalese Akon, South Africa’s Lucky Dube and Anthony B. Indeed he is touted as the world’s next Bob Marley, which one readily agrees with after listening to this multitalented artiste.
As a professional musical artiste, Ebo’o has opened up for internationally acclaimed artistes like Jay Z, Shaggy, Marlon Asher, Wayne Marshall and a host of others all at ‘A’ rated concerts in Ghana.
With several more projects, Ebo’o will definitely get the world to pay attention.
