Revelations from the corridors of the Ghana Football Association(GFA), indicates that some TV stations are still in arrears to the FA, for the 2005 World Cup qualifying matches TV rights.
At the signing agreement of media rights contract of Black Stars World Cup qualifiers at the FA secretariat, he revealed that the FA offered TV rights to some TV stations during the 2005 World Cup qualifiers but they have failed in fulfilling its financial obligations.
Reacting to Optimum Media Prime, the sole television rights for the Black Stars World Cup qualifiers games, the FA president Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, pointed out that "It will amaze you to know that some TV stations are still owing us, and so they don't have the moral rights to bid for media rights."
He indicated that the FA sold the rights to OMP based on their competence, financial loyalty as well as the high confidence reposed in them.
The FA boss stated that the exclusivity nature of the agreement notwithstanding, interested parties are welcome on board to bring the Stars game to the door step of Ghanaians.
The Stars will begin their journey to the South Africa 2010 World Cup with its first game against Libya at the Baba Yara Stadium on May 30.
