Accra, March 20, GNA – The National Chapters Committee (NCC) of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club will organize its forthcoming elections on March 29 as originally planned.
The decision to hold the election on the proposed date was reached at after a joint meeting of the Board of Director, Executives of NCC, Electoral body and other groups who had petitioned the Board on the eligibility of some of the contestants.
Ernest Thompson, Board Secretary in a statement copied to the GNA Sports said that the Board has also approved Mr Edmund Bright Palmer-Quarshie to be allowed to also stand for the position of General Secretary.
This, he said, was done in the interest of the Club towards ensuring a smooth and peaceful election.
Mr Thompson further said that Board had resolved to expand the electoral body with the inclusion of two independent persons who are not members of the NCC Executive.
The petition was bordered on the composition of the Electoral body and who are the candidates standing for the positions of General Secretary and Public Relations Officer.
The Board Secretary thanked all who assisted in resolving the issue, and also commended the supporters for their patience and their maturity.
