Do you want to have fun, good exercise or a refreshing lifestyle with good drinks and food as well as relax in a serene and safe environment? Then the De Temple Social Center is the place for you.
De Temple which is the latest hideout in town is open 24 hours each day. Established barely two months ago it is located at a hideaway called Petroleum, a suburb of new Achimota.
The plush outfit which could be defined as a real social center has every facility to take care of the entertainment and refreshing needs of the ordinary Ghanaian.
Basically, De Temple has various facilities including a night club with three VIP lounges which is open on Fridays, Saturdays and on public holidays, with Fridays being free for ladies.
There is also a beautifully designed pool bar, 5 by 8 feet swimming pool and private video rooms for partners as well as a mini theatre for family get-together and conferencing. Patrons can also have a massage at the spa.
The outfit which has a very big car park with good security has a gym with state-of-the-art equipment. De Temple also has an aerobics centre for exercising as well as a big bar and restaurant.
The manager of De Temple Social Center, Delali Wise Akotia told BEATWAVES in an interview that the objective for establishing such plush entertainment center was to help people have time for themselves and take some stress off.
“Looking at this community there is no social center for people to gather and have fun. We have observed that all the people here are workers. They walk straight from their offices and come home to sleep. So the purpose for establishing the joint is to help such people to take their stress off since they can’t go jogging; they can come here, do their jogging in our training facility,” he said.
Explaining why the name ‘De Temple’, Mr. Eddie Nash, the managing director, said “the name is not strange. When one hears about De Temple, that person may wonder if it is a church or a place of worshiping.
But it is not. There are a lot of churches around here. So we looked at the environment to create the name. I created the name because I think that going to the temple does not necessarily mean a place of worship, but a place where you can also go and have fun, exercise yourself, have some food to eat and enjoy yourself.”
At De Temple, patrons only pay a meagre GH¢5 to have access to the facilities on daily basis. Meanwhile the outfit has membership packages also, where members would enjoy some discounts.
These include silver, gold and platinum memberships. Should the center organise a programme, members in the various categories could get half rates or perhaps be part of the programme for free.
With the gym an individual pays GH¢50 for the whole year while couples register for GH¢70.
“After registration we have what is called membership dues depending on the membership that you opted for. For the silver members they are entitled to the gym and the aerobics alone while the gold members get access to the gym, aerobics and the pool. However the platinum gives access to all our facilities,” said Delali.
