Captain Newman Is Dead

One of Ghana’s veteran highlife musicians, Captain Newman is dead. He died of heart failure at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital on Friday, January 25. Until his death, the late Captain Newman, who was a composer, arranger and producer was an active member of the Copyright Society of Ghana (COSGA) and the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA). According to a family source, funeral arrangements would be announced later.
