The Upper East Regional Coordinating Director Mr. Samuel N’lary at the weekend appealed to entrepreneurs to invest in the tourism industry in the region.
He stated that the region was abound with tourism attractions which could be developed, citing the Paga crocodile pond, Tongo Hills, Tono irrigation project, Bolgatanga craft village, Gbewaa Shrine at Pusiga and the numerous cultural festivals.
Mr N’lary made the appeal during the launch of Tanga Tours, a non-governmental organisation working to promote and develop tourism in the region.
He stated that if well managed, tourism could improve living standards of the people in the region and pledged the Regional Coordinating Council’s support for the sector.
Mr N’lary urged entrepreneurs to work hard to attract more patronage.
“Tourism, like any business, must be worked and developed; tourists would want to spend monies on goods and services worthy of its valueâ€.
