CPP Government Will Create Jobs For Ghanaians - Dr Nduom Website
Government of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), would ensure that adequate support was given to the private sector to enable it provide more jobs for Ghanaians, Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, the party’s presidential candidate said on Monday. He said the support would include the provision of tax incentives, money, expertise and the creation of local markets for their products. Dr Nduom announced this at a press briefing at Obuasi during a tour of the Ashanti Region to amass voter support for the December 2008 presidential and parliamentary elections. Dr Nduom, whose campaign strategy was to tour the whole country four times before the election, had visited Ejura Sekyedumase, Akomadan, Fomena, Adansi Asokwa and New Edubiase, all in the Ashanti Region. In all these areas, he addressed mini rallies and discussed with opinion leaders, including chiefs, religious leaders, market women, artisans and members of transport unions, how a CPP-led Government would transform Ghana’s economy. Dr Nduom stressed, “CPP is ‘Adwumawura’ (that is a party that creates jobs) and, therefore, we can bring jobs for the people. People want jobs that will pay them good wages.” The CPP flagbearer noted that, many Ghanaians were ready for a change, but not prepare to vote for any body adding, “They can look at us as the alternative. “I want to be a leader who will implement solutions with sense of urgency,” he said and regretted that the country have delayed in implementing so many issues. Dr Nduom, who was confident of his party’s victory in the December elections indicated, “CPP has a track record and that we are working to win. If even there is going to be a run-off, CPP will be one and win.” The CPP flagbearer called for clean campaigns based on issues and solutions, to further promote peace and unity in the country before, during and after the elections.
